Well, I like what you did with Nico and Armando -- they are ideal in their toony perfection. In fact, I love em. But, I've never really understood the use of photos for backgrounds. <shrug> I know other artists do it, and it's a quick way of filling empty space in an artwork. (Heck, I've seen more than a few of them on DA.) But I always find myself wondering what could have been done had the work been taken that one step further -- you know maybe either drawing the background, or doing a photomanipulation on the photo so there is some sort of meshing of the style and feel between the foreground characters and the background. (Hope I'm not sounding too negative.)
no, no, it not sound negative... now I explain...
Nico & Armando are two characters of 5 albums I made with my par writer... They are italian, they are two special police man of Roma went to Milano. Do you know some about italian spaghetti western or '70 italian movies ? They are inspired of that film by the narrative way... We imagine Nico & Armando are really alive in this reality and the illustration with Nico & Armando on a photo is where they went for a journey. You'll see also "Nico & Armando in Mai dire bar" that is the bar where they go... an existent beer bar here in Milano...
sorry for my english ...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
